Job Title: Field Director

Reports To: No Kid Hungry Arkansas Campaign Director

Summary: The person in this position will manage advocacy efforts to increase eligible families’ access to federal nutrition programs, primarily, the School Breakfast Program, the Summer Food Service Program, and the Seamless Summer Option.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with the No Kid Hungry Arkansas Campaign Director and Share Our Strength to create and implement a strategic plan to recruit summer meals sites and sponsors, as well as recruit schools and school districts to add alternative service plans for school breakfast.

  • Hire and supervise a team of five (5) Summer Field Managers responsible for recruiting 174 new summer meals sites in 15 weeks through the development of a regional outreach program to sites, sponsors, and school administrators.
  • Work with existing team of four (4) Breakfast Field Managers to identify and recruit fifty (50) schools to participate in Breakfast in the Classroom or alternative delivery models for School Breakfast to increase breakfast participation.
  • In coordination with the No Kid Hungry Arkansas Campaign Director, develop a statewide prospecting list and training module to guide the work of the Field Managers.
  • Communicate regularly with Field Managers to track outreach efforts to target areas and to identify additional strategies to support their work.
  • In coordination with the No Kid Hungry Arkansas Campaign Director, develop an evaluation model for tracking the success of Field Managers.
  • Support the work of the No Kid Hungry Campaign Director in communicating updates on the progress of Field Managers to corresponding state agencies and stakeholders.
  • Ensure that the participating agencies and schools have the training needed to implement the various programs.
  • Make regular progress reports to the No Kid Hungry Arkansas partners and stakeholders.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • The Field Director supervises four (4) Breakfast Field Managers and five (5) Summer Field Managers.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Community organizing, political, or electoral campaign experience strongly recommended
  • Experience working under tight timelines and ability to manage a team towards set common outcomes
  • Experience in project and team management
  • Experience working with non-profit agencies and faith groups
  • Experience in working with communities in more than one region of Arkansas
  • Experience in public policy and advocacy
  • Bachelor’s degree and experience with non-profit advocacy organizations

Other:

  • $40,000 - $45,000 plus benefits
