My mother recently passed away and left an 11-year old indoor cat that is
deaf and quite difficult (as in hisses and strikes at most anyone who comes
near with sharp claws). The family would like to find a new home - via
rescue group, kind-hearted cat person, etc. - since we can't handle her as an
addition to our homes. Anyone have any suggestions?

I haven't seen any references like this...so hoping neighbors can help...

A friend of mine (Hillcrest resident) left her dog with a friend that lives the Heights while on vacation. He somehow got loose. I am hoping he is still in Heights or Hillcrest. The dog has been missing for a little over a week. He is a small to medium size (about 24 lbs), black mix breed. Somewhat wirey hair. Very sweet mutt. He kind of looks like the stereo type stray dog, but definitely has a loving home. If anyone has seen him please let me know. His name is Buddy.

Thanks for all the emails and phone calls about Buddy! He found his way home on Friday night during the Thunderstorm. He is a little thinner...but in good shape. I always like a happy ending to a story!
