Sponsors & Volunteers Needed for NUSA 5K Fundraising Race
Little
Rock’s Team NUSA
(Neighborhoods, USA)
will be
hosting a 5K Fundraiser Race on Nov
5th. Race
participants and volunteers will receive a t-shirt. For more
information on NUSA go to www.nusa.org.
The
attachment will show you just what the logo looks like on a race
shirt. To create a very unique shirt for our race, each year
the Annual Number will change, a place where the hosting
city name will change, and we will use the map of each state
that hosts the Annual NUSA Conference, and the year that the
conference will be held. No race shirts will ever look
exactly the same, even when we go back to the same city, some 5-10
years later. There will be at least 2 areas that will always
change, and I haven't even mentioned the color changes that will
make the shirts look different each
year.

REGISTRATION
We need a
volunteer to supervise and handle processing paper applications and
be able to filter them into an on-line
registration system. This person will need to be able to
work on Friday Nov 4th from 10-6 at Easy Runner at the Pleasant
Ridge Shopping Center to handle the shirt and number
pick-up. This person will be in charge of additional
volunteers on race day to handle the group of pre-registered
runners and the second group of people registering on the race
day. This position requires someone able to handle data
entries well and pay great attention to detail. Instruction
for this position will be provided in advance of the race
activities. At least (4) additional volunteers will be needed
to assist this supervisor in this
area.
FINISH
Bill Torrey
will be responsible for this area. He will need at least (5)
additional volunteers in this
area.
FOOD &
AWARDS
This
supervisor will be responsible for obtaining the food, drinks, and
awards and having them ready when the runners finish the
race. At least (6) additional volunteers will be needed to
assist this supervisor.
WATER
STOP
This
supervisor will be responsible for obtaining the water, cups, and
tables to dispense the water about half-way along the race
course. There will be at least (6) other volunteers needed
for this area.
VOLUNTEERS
We will need
a supervisor of volunteers, plus at least (6) additional volunteers
to work for this person.
We
will need at least 4 supervisors, plus at least 27 volunteers at a
minimum, to handle this race. The more volunteers we get in
advance, the easier things will be. Since this race has
never been done, we won't know until possibly the days before the
event, just how many runners will sign up. If the numbers
swell in the remaining days, we will simply need more volunteers to
make this race run smoothly.
